Are We Really Independent?
15th August, Indian Independence Day. We Indians celebrate this day marvelously by waving the Tricolor, confronting the patriots in us, flying kites, revering our mighty soldiers, and so much more. But do we really understand the meaning of Independence? We comprehend this term in a political sense, that is, on this day we got "freedom" from others' rule, that from now on we are only dependent on our Nation, it is perhaps the best meaning but let us try to think of Independence in a completely different way.
Are we really Independent?
Do we actually understand it in true sense?
To the first question the answer is NO. You are thinking why? right! So here you go..
Dependency is our essential nature. At every point of our lives we all are dependent on one or the other thing and we just can't get away from it. We were dependent on our mothers for our being then on air, water, food, to name a few and when we'll say goodbye to this world our body will still be dependent on others to get disintegrated. So this means that we can never be independent, true in some sense, but we have to see that it's not only us(human beings) but there are so many things that are dependent on us, for instance, the pet in your house, the plants in your kitchen garden. Are we taking care of them? these are the most important and inseparable parts of our existence, we are here to take care of them not to clear them away. Climate change is the biggest problem now because of our ignorance and selfishness. The pace at which we are clearing the green cover we are opening the gates of Hell for us. The Karma also comes to the picture, what we do to the world the same will come to us. We are taking our surroundings for granted, this will fall on us as an unimaginable disaster in near future. So start protecting the world before its too late.
We understand things only in the way it is given to us. We accept most of the things blindly without knowing its significance. Like we are following the same old caste distinction without understanding the need behind it. Caste system was framed with the idea of "division of labour", but now we see it as a ticket to get admissions, jobs and what not. It has become the privilege for exploiting the less advantaged. We need freedom from such ideology because it can only take us to our demise.
Being a part of such a diverse Nation we need freedom from crimes, injustices, differences of all kinds, environmental problems, and so much more. We have to start changing things individually which will result in the change globally.
May the love for our Nation cherish in our hearts and our surroundings!!
